This page contained summaries of the post that were place in the category WordPress, but I have removed most of the summaries and replace them by a more global summary.
Some of the posts referred to WordPress updates like WordPress 2.9.2, WordPress 2.8.4, WordPress 2.8.2, WordPress 2.8.1, WordPress 2.7.1, WordPress 2.7, WordPress 2.6.5, WordPress 2.6.3, WordPress 2.6,  WordPress 2.5.1, WordPress 2.5,  WordPress 2.3.3, WordPress 2.3.2 and WordPress 2.3. Most of these posts are irrelevant now, but can be used to find out which version of the Show-FEN plugin can be used for older versions of WordPress. For example: version 1.4 of this plugin solved the problems with the update to WordPress 2.8 as you can read in the Oops post.

Some of the other post in this category refer to a theme change. The site started by using an adapted version of the Painted Desert theme, followed by Connections, Cutline, Finishline and Blue Grace.

At the moment you are looking at this site running at Google Sites with an adapted version of the Travel Journal Template.
The summaries below are the summaries of the posts not mentioned above.

Of course I also changed the header and some of the other pictures. The goal is that this new look feels both new, but also somewhat familiar with the old site.

I have removed the post date from the permalink urls. This is a rather easy operation in WordPress, but I also had to assure that all the old links are redirected to the new permalinks. I think it works fine, but I still have to adapt all the internal used links in order to prevent [...]

I have received some requests to add printer friendly pages to the chess lessons, but I didn’t like to duplicate all the content. In an article about Styling for Print I found that this can also be done by creating a special cascading style sheet for printing. The initial result was rather different from my [...]

I noted that the comments on the about page have been disappeared so I decided to make them reappear again. Therefor I have added the following code to the Page template. <?php if (is_page(‘about’)) { ?>    <div class=”comments-template”>          <?php comments_template(); ?>    </div> <?php }> Now the comments are back, but [...]

The Show-FEN plugin v1.3 can be downloaded here. In addition to the original functionality the letterx x, o and v may be used. Ater downloading and unzipping the plugin to an appropriate directory you still have to change the line $path = “http://your.domain.name/plugindir/”; to something which corresponds to the directory in which the pictures of [...]

At this place a new chess problem has been presented to you during each visit. The purpose of these chess diagrams was to improve your chess skills. But there were two problems with these diagrams. First of all it takes a lot of bandwidth, because for each visit the site has to be changed. And [...]

The first version of the Show-fen plugin for WordPress is finished. It is based on the code for SPHPBlog that can be downloaded at Schaakpraat and can be used to display chess diagrams by only inserting the FEN string within the <fen> and </fen> tags. The circle at the upper right corner is used to [...]
