Mate in one

You will find a new mate in one problem each time you visit this page (or after a refresh of this page). After giving the right solution or after three wrong answers the solution is revealed.
You can make a move by clicking on a piece and dropping it at the target square.

The white (or black) circle indicates that it's white's (or black's) turn to move. All diagrams are mate in one puzzles. Some are easy and some are a little bit difficult. Or do you prefer the mate in two problems or the mate in three problems?

  1. tell us whether black or white to play for the interactive part.

  2. oops. sorry, it’s the black dot. didn’t see that the first time. cheers!

  3. Don’t be sorry. I probably have to explain the meaning of the black or white circle.

  4. I think this page is broken – this page doesn’t seem to allow the user to drag and drop the pieces into the position

  5. @RL
Currently drag and drop isn’t implemented for all browsers, but then you should still be able to click on the target square (after clicking on the piece to move) to do the move.
    Which browser are you using?

  6. Internet explorer, but I’ve also tried with firefox yesterday

  7. Do you try to drag the pieces?
At the moment you have to first click on a piece followed by a click on the target square.

  8. nice exercise!
